Project Brief

A Power BI reporting suite built for a staffing and subcontracting operation, covering revenue performance, gross margin, and cost decomposition across 331 contracts and 194 contractors spanning multiple US states.

The data architecture integrates two source systems — QuickBooks Online invoiced line items and Paycom payroll/timesheet exports — into a star schema with three dimension tables (contracts, employees, billing codes) and three fact tables (invoice line items, contract assignments, billable timesheets). Two aggregate views (cost per hour, revenue per hour) sit between the fact layer and Power BI, with a QA layer that surfaces uninvoiced contracts, missing Paycom mappings, and billable hour discrepancies between timesheet and monthly report sources.
